Jon Bennett is director of community relations for TXU Energy, a competitive retail business which serves more than 2.2 million residential, commercial and industrial customers. TXU Energy is a subsidiary of Energy Future Holdings Corp. (EFH)

Bennett, and his team of community relations managers, are dedicated to advocating the company’s core values and key messages to customers, local communities, third-party organizations and opinion leaders. His team is the TXU Energy “face” to the community and focuses on strategically building credibility around TXU Energy’s goals and commitments.

Bennett is a registered lobbyist in Texas and supports market advocacy efforts for state leadership at the district level. Bennett’s strong leadership and team-building skills, as well as his proactive approach to identifying and resolving problems, render him a valuable member of the TXU Energy team.

Bennett began his career with Texas Utilities in 1986 in Palestine, Texas. During his company career, he has held leadership positions in utility operations, finance and strategy, customer service, public affairs, and community relations positions.

Civic Involvement

Bennett is currently President of the Board of the Community Council of Greater Dallas, President of the Board of the Citizens Development Center, President of the CDC Foundation, serves on the Board of the Texas Trees Foundation, is Advisory Chair of Dallas 211 Texas Info-line, and serves as the Chair of the Dallas Area Coalition to Prevent Childhood Obesity.

Bennett is also a Texas Auctioneer specializing in charity and benefit fundraisers for the non-profit community.

Education

Bennett was awarded a master’s of science in management from the University of Central Texas.
